Overview
Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Welding Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines.
Responsible for repair and maintenance of all manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment:
- Repair and maintenance of all oxygen/propane, oxygen/acetylene burning, preheat, and related equipment
- Repair and maintenance of all mold in place equipment
- Repair and maintenance of magna drills, boring bars and related equipment
- Repair and maintenance of hydraulic jacks, pumps, and associated equipment
- Work conditions may include confined spaces
- Security clearance to enter all areas of the shipyard (CIA) is required
- Must be able to work until the end of the normal scheduled shift hours
- Must have the ability to distinguish between colors for the purpose of performing the job

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma, GED OR have 2+ years of related technical experience
- 5+ years of repair and maintenance experience of all manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding equipment
- Security clearance to enter all areas of the shipyard (CIA) is required
- Must be able to work until the end of the normal scheduled shift hours
- Must have the ability to distinguish between colors for the purpose of performing the job
Preferred:
- 1+ years of PC background experience in parts and equipment ordering and tool tracking issues/collection
