Job summary

FRDM Fabs is seeking a skilled Welder to join our custom metal fabrication team in a shop environment. You will perform high-quality welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, reading blueprints and specifications to ensure precise fabrication.

Ideal candidates have MIG or stick welding proficiency, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. This full-time role offers opportunity for overtime and hands-on craftsmanship in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Proven welding experience in metal fabrication or similar environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• AWS/ASME certification is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment with safety protocols in place.

Responsibilities

• Weld on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to fabricate components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications.
• Cut, fit, and assemble metal parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Inspect welds for quality and aesthetics.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and grinders.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Assist in quality control checks and final inspections of fabricated products.
• Communicate project requirements with supervisors and clients to ensure specifications are met.
