Job summary

Jasper Engine Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Welder for our Jasper Indiana Tool and Die Division. The role requires basic welding knowledge and the ability to read CAD drawings, measure parts, and weld to specifications.

You will use arc and gas welding equipment, perform cuts with a torch, and maintain tools and shop areas. Typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm with overtime. Competitive pay starts at $22.00 per hour, with on-the-job training and full benefits available.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and samples to weld-up, fabricate, and repair parts to customer specifications.
• Identify metal types and sizes and measure to specifications per drawings.
• Pass the qualification process for SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, brazing and soldering; safe torch use.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints, sketches, and samples to accurately weld-up, fabricate, and repair parts to customer specifications.
• Some light lifting and hoist-assisted handling of tooling or parts.
• Use measuring equipment to build up and grind down parts to specs.
• Operate welders and power tools to repair or fabricate parts per job specs.
• Adjust welder controls for different jobs and perform preventative maintenance.
