Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Jasper, IN is seeking a Welder for our Tool and Die division. The role requires basic welding knowledge, blueprint and CAD reading, and precise measurement to ensure parts meet drawings and specifications.

You will operate spot-welding and other welding equipment, follow procedures, perform maintenance, and handle lifting and material handling during shifts from 6:30am to 3:00pm with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Basic welding knowledge required.
• Ability to read blueprints and CAD drawings.
• Proficient in measuring and math.
• Familiar with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, brazing and soldering.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and sketches to weld and fabricate parts to specs.

Job Description:ITD – WelderLocation: Jasper HQ - Jasper, IN815 Wernsing Rd, Jasper IN 47546Job Overview: This is a Welder position in our JASPER Indiana Tool and Die Division. Basic prior welding knowledge would be required. Operations consist of using a spot-welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment to assemble metal components to effect repairs to various products and machinery. They are responsible for measuring sizes to ensure parts meet specifications that are shown on drawings or instructions. Welders may also need to fill holes or corrects mistakes in product and make bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces.Schedule:Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pmOvertime availableQualifications:Needs to be able to use tape measures, squares, bench grinder, disc grinder, variety of hand tools, vertical and horizontal bandsaws. Must be able to identify types and sizes of metal and other material. Must also be able to understand CAD drawings and can sketch a part. Basic math skills (add, subtract, decimals, fractions) are also critical.Must understand how to use equipment and follow procedures...and can pass the qualification process for SMAW (shielded metal arc welding), GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding), GMAW (gas metal arc welding) as well as brazing and soldering.
