Jasper Engines in Jasper, Indiana seeks a Welder for our Tool and Die Division. Basic welding knowledge is required and candidates should be able to read CAD drawings and blueprints.

The role involves measuring and fabricating metal parts to exact specifications using spot welding and various welding equipment. You will read drawings, set up equipment, and perform welding operations with attention to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Basic welding knowledge and ability to read CAD drawings or sketches.
• Basic math skills (add/subtract/decimals/fractions) required.
• Must understand how to use welding equipment and follow procedures; pass SMAW/GTAW/GMAW qualifications.

Job Description:ITD – WelderJob Overview: This is a Welder position in our JASPER Indiana Tool and Die Division. Basic prior welding knowledge would be required. Operations consist of using a spot-welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment to assemble metal components to effect repairs to various products and machinery. They are responsible for measuring sizes to ensure parts meet specifications that are shown on drawings or instructions. Welders may also need to fill holes or corrects mistakes in product and make bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces.Schedule:Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pmOvertime availableQualifications:Needs to be able to use tape measures, squares, bench grinder, disc grinder, variety of hand tools, vertical and horizontal bandsaws. Must be able to identify types and sizes of metal and other material. Must also be able to understand CAD drawings and can sketch a part. Basic math skills (add, subtract, decimals, fractions) are also critical.Must understand how to use equipment and follow procedures...and can pass the qualification process for SMAW (shielded metal arc welding), GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding), GMAW (gas metal arc welding) as well as brazing and soldering.
