AutoNation is seeking a Skilled Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards, building Customer loyalty through trust and reliability. The role emphasizes strong communication with Parts and Service, diagnosing issues, and maintaining safety and quality across all customer vehicles.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of automotive technician experience preferred.
• Automotive technical training varies by store.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and maintenance per repair order to dealership standards.
• Communicate with Parts Dept and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs if authorized by customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make safety recommendations.
• Document work on each vehicle's repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of tools not normally inventoried by service.
• Keep up with factory bulletins and attend training classes.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What We’re Looking For

• Valid driver’s license

What are the day‑to‑day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
• Conducting multi‑point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory‑sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician
• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)
• Attention to detail
• Organization and follow‑up skills
• Valid in‑state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
