Job summary

AutoNation is looking for a Senior Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance per factory and dealer standards. You will build trust with customers by delivering safe, reliable service and communicating effectively with service teams.

Key duties include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, documenting work, and staying current with OEM training. A valid state license and prior automotive technician experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training (varies by store).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance per repair order, meeting dealership and factory standards to drive customer loyalty.
• Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make safety/reliability recommendations.
• Document work on repair orders and maintain inventory of special tools as needed.
• Stay updated with factory bulletins and participate in training.

What We’re Looking For

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
• Conducting multi‐point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory‐sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
