Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to join our utility line clearance team serving the Kinsman, OH region. This on-site, full-time role offers outdoor work and opportunities to advance climbing skills.

Responsibilities include pruning and removing trees for major electric utilities, safely operating tools and equipment, and collaborating with crew and foreperson. CDL preferred and safety training through Davey programs is required on hire.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors and be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Preferred: CDL-A or CDL-B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation, First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning, trimming, and removal for utility clients.
• Remove damaged limbs from lines, roofs and other surfaces.
• Identify trees, follow pruning guidelines and safety protocols.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related tools.
• Coordinate with crew and foreperson to complete jobs safely.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Kinsman, OH region.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
