Job summary

Platinum Paving and Concrete, LLC is seeking a Pipe Layer to join our construction team in Savannah, GA. You will read blueprints, install underground piping, and ensure proper alignment and sealing according to plans and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience as a Pipe Layer or similar construction role.
• Ability to read construction drawings and perform layout tasks.
• Familiarity with different pipe materials and installation methods.
• Strong understanding of job site safety practices.
• Physical stamina to perform heavy labor and work in varied outdoor conditions.
• CDL or equipment operator certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
• Excavate and grade trenches using hand tools or equipment.
• Align and position pipes to ensure proper slope and seal.
• Install various types of pipe (e.g., PVC, ductile iron, concrete, steel) for storm drains, water mains, and sewer systems.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using cement, glue, or welding equipment.
• Lay pipe to required depth and alignment based on plans.
• Backfill trenches and compact earth using manual or mechanical methods.
• Operate or assist with heavy equipment as needed (e.g., excavators, trenchers).
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
• Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.
