About the Role

As a Traveling Skilled Trades Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of diverse industrial projects across various sites. Core Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of skilled trades projects, from initial planning to final project closeout.
• Create and manage comprehensive project schedules and budgets to ensure financial goals are met.
• Ensure all site activities align with design specifications, contractual obligations, and safety protocols.
• Direct daily field operations, including the efficient allocation of labor, materials, and subcontractor resources.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the main liaison for clients to foster strong relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
• Facilitate regular project status meetings with key stakeholders, including clients and engineering teams.
• Manage project correspondence, RFIs, and change orders to keep documentation accurate and up-to-date.
• Direct field staff and subcontractors to ensure all work meets our internal performance benchmarks.
• Mentor and guide field personnel to help them grow professionally and contribute to a collaborative environment.
• Work alongside HR and safety departments to cultivate a positive jobsite culture and ensure full compliance.
• Track labor hours and material costs to help maintain the overall profitability of the project.
• Review invoices and manage purchase orders while assisting in vendor negotiations to optimize spending.
• Develop detailed performance reports and forecasts to provide leadership with clear project insights.

Safety & Compliance

• Implement company safety policies and conduct regular site inspections to protect the entire team.
• Partner with the safety team to maintain strict adherence to OSHA and internal safety standards.
• Direct corrective action plans and post-incident reviews to prevent future safety issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5-7 years of experience managing projects within the skilled trades, such as millwright, electrical, or mechanical work.
• A demonstrated history of successfully overseeing large-scale industrial projects or multiple job sites simultaneously.
• High level of proficiency using project management tools like Procore or Microsoft Project.
• Deep understanding of job costing, estimating, and interpreting construction documentation.
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel up to 75-90% of the time for short or long-term assignments at various customer locations.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during critical project phases and travel on short notice.

Physical Demands

• Ability to navigate active construction environments, including exposure to loud noise and outdoor conditions.
• Capacity to perform frequent standing and walking, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
