Tool & Die Maker / Mold Maker

Wage: $39.00-$45.00/hour + $3.00/hour Night Shift Premium, Based on experience. Shift: 12-Hour Shifts. Hours: Day 6:30am-6:30pm, Night 6:30pm-6:30am. Work location: Mequon, WI.

We are seeking experienced Tool & Die Makers / Mold Makers with a strong background in plastic injection molds, CNC machining, and tool room operations. These positions will be responsible for repairing, modifying, troubleshooting, and improving injection molds while providing immediate support to production to minimize equipment downtime. This is a direct hire opportunity in Mequon, WI.

Tool & Die Maker / Mold Maker Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• - Repair, alter, condition, and maintain complex plastic injection molds, dies, components, and related fixtures


• - Provide immediate response to production breakdowns to minimize downtime


• - Program and edit designs using CAD/CAM software; experience with NX and/or SolidWorks is highly desirable


• - Set up and operate CNC/NC equipment and common tool room machinery


• - Perform complex machine setups requiring modification or improvisation of tooling and equipment


• - Work closely with production and mold maintenance teams to troubleshoot injection molding and mechanical issues


• - Modify existing molds to improve performance or achieve changes from the original design


• - Work with outside vendors for welding, polishing, plating, and other specialized services


• - Verify finished components meet specifications using dimensional and alignment checks


• - Fit and assemble components into completed mold assemblies


• - Work with various hot runner systems; Husky experience is a plus


• - Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings


• - Operate mills, radial drills, surface grinders, and various hand and precision tools


• - Provide technical guidance to apprentices, machinists, mold maintenance, and production technicians as needed


• - Maintain a clean and organized work area while following quality, food safety, and PPE requirements

Tool & Die Maker / Mold Maker Requirements:

• - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical education preferred


• - Journeyman Tool & Die Maker Certificate is highly desired but NOT required


• - 5+ years of related Tool & Die, Mold Making, or similar experience is desired


• - Strong experience repairing and troubleshooting plastic injection molds


• - Ability to independently perform mold repair, modification, machining, fitting, and assembly


• - Experience programming and operating CNC/NC equipment


• - CAD/CAM programming experience; NX and SolidWorks experience is a plus


• - Strong troubleshooting skills involving injection molds and mechanical systems


• - Experience with hot runner systems; Husky experience is a plus


• - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, technical instructions, and specifications


• - Strong understanding of measurements, geometric tolerances, metric-to-inch conversions, geometry, and trigonometry


• - Ability to operate common tool room equipment, including mills, radial drills, surface grinders, and hand tools


• - Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with engineering, production, maintenance, and management


• - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally
