Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Master Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards, building customer trust and confidence in AutoNation as a care-giver for safety and reliability.

The role emphasizes diagnosing malfunctions, performing repairs as authorized, and conducting thorough inspections while maintaining clear communication with the Parts Department and Service Advisors. A path for growth into leadership roles is highlighted.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
  • Automotive technical training varies by store needs.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
  • Organization and follow-up skills are important.
  • Valid in-state driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance according to repair orders, with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and communication.
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs when authorized by customer.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections and make safety/reliability recommendations.
  • Document all work performed on the repair order.
  • Maintain inventory of specialty tools not normally inventoried by service.
  • Stay updated with factory bulletins and participate in training classes.

What We're Looking For
  • Valid driver's license

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
  • Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
  • Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
  • Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
  • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician's tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as "special tools."
  • Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
