Job summary

Mount Pleasant Independent School District is seeking a Maintenance Worker - Carpenter to perform carpentry, maintenance and repair across district facilities. Immediate start and full-time schedule within the MPISD maintenance team.

The role requires a clear Texas CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, ability to read blueprints, operate hand and power tools, and to pass required DOT tests. Heavy lifting up to 75+ lbs and independent work are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Must have a clear and valid Texas CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and work independently.
• Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry, maintenance and repair of buildings and structures district-wide.
• Assist with other maintenance needs as assigned by supervisor.
• Perform major repairs with minimal supervision and follow policies and procedures.
• Daily cleaning of shop area and vehicle.
