Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a seasoned Director of the Skilled Nursing Unit to lead daily SNU operations and nursing staff. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and strong leadership to ensure high-quality resident care.

Ideal candidates will have an RN license in Florida and prior SNF leadership experience, with a focus on teamwork, staffing, and policy development.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Florida RN license required.
• Prior nursing leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations and Florida AHCA requirements.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Skilled Nursing Unit to ensure efficient operations and quality resident care.
• Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to nursing staff and other departmental employees.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, CMS requirements, AHCA standards, and facility policies.
• Monitor resident care to ensure services are provided safely and per care plans.
• Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures.
• Manage staffing schedules, employee performance, attendance, and departmental productivity.
• Participate in hiring, orientation, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Monitor departmental budgets, staffing expenses, and operational needs.
• Oversee quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of clinical documentation and required reports.
• Coordinate with physicians, residents, families, and other departments to address care needs.
