Job summary

Marlora Post Acute Rehabilitation Hospital in Long Beach, California is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents and staff. You will plan meal services, follow menus, and ensure safe, attractive presentation. The role requires Serve-Safe certification and experience in high-volume food production.

You'll contribute to a supportive team, maintain sanitation standards, and step in for leadership when the Food Service Director is unavailable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in commercial/volume food preparation.
• Serve-Safe Certification required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must provide TB test verification as required by state law.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation practices and nutrition principles.
• Ability to interact positively with residents in absence of supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods for residents, patients, employees, and visitors.
• Plan and coordinate meal services to meet mealtime schedules.
• Prepare food according to menus and recipes, ensuring safe, attractive service.
• Direct other Food and Nutrition Services staff in the absence of leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen, adhering to sanitation regulations.
• Perform related duties and cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure effective food service operations.
