Job summary

Cartwright School District is seeking a skilled Welder for a Classified Maintenance Specialist position. The Welder will repair and modify various types of light/heavy vehicles and district components, maintaining welding materials and shop equipment in a safety‑conscious environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Arizona driver’s license. Welding certification is preferred; 3–5 years journeyman experience is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs welding repairs and modifications (plasma; TIG, MIG, Stick, Torch, Spot).
• Operate shop overhead crane, dollies, and forklift.
• Maintain welding materials, supplies, and shop equipment records.
• Determine welding techniques to fabricate/repair automotive assets and equipment.
• Follow PPE and safety policies; maintain safety records.
