Job summary

TheWelder performs preventive maintenance, fabrication welding, refurbishes refuse containers and compactors, rehabilitates scuffed paint, installs decals and ensures accurate repair and replacement of components. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, equipment maintenance and repair experience, be 18 years of age or older and be legally eligible to work in the US.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding and fabrication skills expected.
• Equipment maintenance and repair experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs on all sizes and types of containers and compactors including road repair.
• Performs inspections on welding and cutting equipment for safe operation.
• Maintains inventory records and ensures adequate materials.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA requirements.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors.
• Assists senior welders on project work.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities.
