Job summary

Cartwright School District is seeking a skilled maintenance technician specialized in welding to repair and modify a variety of district assets. You will maintain welding materials, equipment, and records, ensuring safe and reliable operations across campus facilities.

The role requires 3–5 years journeyman experience or equivalent, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Arizona driver’s license. Welding certification is preferred, and you will work in a 5-day-per-week environment as part of

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license with good driving record.
• Welding certification preferred.
• 3–5 years journeyman level experience or equivalent to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs all types of welding (plasma; TIG, MIG, Stick, Torch and Spot) to repair/modify.
• Operate shop equipment including overhead cranes, dollies and forklifts.
• Maintain welding materials, supplies consumption records and cost documentation.
• Determine appropriate welding techniques to fabricate/repair automotive assets and equipment.
• Wear PPE and follow Safety and Environmental Protection policies.
• Maintain electronic work order records of repairs and fabrications.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and shop equipment in the facilities management system.
• Participate in professional development to improve practices.
