Job summary

Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. in Alliance, OH seeks a Maintenance Technician to support two properties. You will inspect, repair, and maintain residential units, common areas, and systems, with after-hours on-call duties and a 4-day week after 30 days.

The role requires 1–3 years maintenance experience, a high school diploma, a valid Ohio license, and basic tools. The organization offers benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years building maintenance experience in a similar environment or equivalent training and/or experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• Must possess own basic hand tools and power drill/driver.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools, cleaning supplies, and protective equipment.
• Good mechanical and mathematical ability; perform arithmetic, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct property inspections and report issues to supervision.
• Complete work orders and after-hours on-call requests.
• Maintain exterior for curb appeal and safety compliance.
• Repair/replace lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, wiring; use diagnostic devices.
• Repair/replace plumbing fixtures and clear drains with a drain snake.
• Install/repair drywall and perform minor painting.
• Maintain HVAC systems and hot water tanks.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of common areas and grounds.
• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy with necessary repairs.
