Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Med/Surg Unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide skilled nursing care, administer medications, collect data, and participate in the patient’s plan of care.

The role supports a dynamic team in a busy hospital setting. Requirements include an active LPN license in the state of employment and BLS certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required for specialty areas.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or applicant in state of employment
• BLS Basic Life Support certification required
• ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required for specialty areas

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care and administer medications to patients.
• Under supervision of Registered Nurse, participate in the nursing process (data collection, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Administer ordered medications and treatments within scope of practice.
• Perform phlebotomy services as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to adjust care plans based on patient progress.
• Document patient data and responses to care per hospital guidelines.
