Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient-centered care under the direction of an RN. You will support treatment plans, monitor patient conditions, and assist with admissions, discharges, and education.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous learning within a compassionate, patient-focused environment at Mercy. New graduates are welcome and certification requirements include BLS and IV competency per department needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Current LPN license in the state of practice.
• New graduates and experienced LPNs encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the LPN scope of practice.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, assessments, and care planning.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the RN.
• Participate in bedside shift reports, patient rounding, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Reinforce patient and family education.
• Delegate and support patient care activities for unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies and procedures.
• Complete required competencies, certifications, and ongoing education.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and department goals.
