Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is hiring a Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer to service Medina and Lorain County regions in Ohio. CDL holder preferred. You will climb, prune, and remove trees near utility lines, using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.

The role requires a valid driver's license and completion of Davey Tree training. You will work with a crew on on-site utility line clearance projects across Wellington and Ashland areas.

Qualifications

• Interest in outdoor work and safety.
• Must complete orientation and safety trainings upon hire.
• CDL preferred but not required for all positions.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for utility line clearance.
• Remove damaged limbs, prune treetops, and repair trees near lines.
• Operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Coordinate with ground crew and foreperson on job sites.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer, CDL holder preferred, joining our team servicing the Medina and Lorain County, Ohio regions for Lorain-Medina Rural Electric including areas such as Wellington and Ashland.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
