Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring for winter seasonal Lift Maintenance roles in the mountains. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance and safe operation of ski lifts, with emphasis on reliability and safety, across the season 2026/27.

The position offers hourly wages in the range shown, opportunities for training, and potential for growth within the lift operations department, with a focus on safety and teamwork in a high-altitude outdoor setting.

Qualifications

  • Prior mechanical or electrical experience.
  • Valid US driver's license.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Outdoor work in mountain winter conditions.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.
  • Intermediate ski/snowboard ability preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair the assigned lifts.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Collaborate with teams to prioritize safety and efficiency.
  • Follow safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Support professional growth and development across Lift Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position ensures the safe and reliable mechanical operation of lifts, with emphasis on proficiency, instruction, safety, and leadership in all areas of Lift Maintenance. This department is responsible for the safe transport of guests and employees on the mountain. The role is perfect for someone who wants to learn and grow with the department and build a career in the ski industry.

Job Responsibilities:

Job Requirements:
  • Prior mechanical or electrical experience
  • Must have or ability to obtain a valid US driver's license
  • Ability to work efficiently at heights
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Able to work outdoors in adverse mountain winter weather conditions
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evening shifts, overtime, etc.
  • Intermediate ski/snowboard ability preferred

The expected pay range is$22.99/hr - $27.05/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
