These crews are responsible for working in residential and commercial areas on underground utilities, collaborating with their team to complete daily tasks.

Essential Functions:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist the crew leader with construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work.
• Support equipment operators, including swamping, hand digging, and locating underground obstructions.
• Operate specialized equipment such as jackhammers, rotary drills, and power actuated fasteners.
• Signal equipment operators to assist with machinery and material handling.
• Work safely around heavy machinery like backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks.
• Prepare and clean construction sites to prevent hazards.

Success Factors:

• Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often in adverse weather conditions.
• Lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a shift.
• Climb, dig, and work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces; capable of walking, stooping, and kneeling.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Work independently and collaboratively with team members.
• Pass motor vehicle, criminal background checks, and comply with drug-free policies.
• Communicate effectively in English for record-keeping, ordering, and reporting.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with underground utilities is desirable.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Possess or obtain a valid State Driver’s License within two weeks of employment.
• Pass criminal background, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), and pre-employment drug screening.
