This position is responsible for tasks involving physical labor at construction sites and assisting other workers. Employees may operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. They may also clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble and other waste materials.

A Laborer typically works 12 hours per day, 6-7 days per week in extreme hot and cold environments after acclimatization. Work may be required on variable terrain in performance of duties, and could include risk exposure to snakes and insects. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including protective clothing and creams will be provided to minimize exposure. Employees are required to wear all required PPE on a daily basis. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are essential if operating a motor vehicle. Laborers routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted on a daily basis and may be required to walk long distances over uneven or rough terrain.
