The Traffic Signal Installer will be responsible for installing signal equipment, including trenching, conduit, concrete foundations, signal cable pulling, and the erection of mast poles and arms. The role also involves span intersection work, both temporary and permanent installations.
Pay ranges from $22 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.
Work is performed outdoors at construction sites and maintenance facilities, with exposure to weather conditions. Physical demands include lifting up to 75 pounds, and tasks such as reaching, standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing on or around equipment. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Applicants should have a basic understanding of traffic signal installation standards per VDOT, ability to operate bucket trucks, and work safely on live intersections. Must be at least 18 years old and prepared to report to work during inclement weather. Knowledge of traffic signal hardware, reading plans, OSHA regulations, and safe operation of construction equipment is required.
