Overview
As a skilled laborer, you will assist electricians and other crew members in installing electrical systems and components. Your duties include working with tools, installing conduit, wiring, junction boxes, and lighting, along with other labor activities as assigned. You must keep materials, tools, and equipment organized, maintain a clean work area, demonstrate safe work habits, and properly care for all tools and equipment.

- Learn and develop skills in the electrical trade.
- Bend and install conduit systems and pull wire.
- Install light fixtures and connect them to power sources.
- Assist the foreman/crew leader with various tasks.
- Transport tools and materials to work areas.
- Support skilled workers in electrical system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Learn specific job-related tasks from experienced employees.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as trench digging and lifting heavy objects.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts.
- Be a dependable team player.
- Arrive on time and be reliable.
- Follow safety protocols and practices.
- Maintain and organize hand tools.
- Move materials and ensure safe setup of equipment.
- Operate tools and machinery like drills and pneumatic hammers.
- Follow health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Remove hazardous materials from sites.
- Spread materials like gravel and asphalt over surfaces.
- Inspect site and equipment regularly.
- Complete on-the-job training programs.
- Assist with site cleanup as needed.
Qualifications
Position Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, or equivalent.
- At least one year of electrical work experience.
Working Conditions
- Use of PPE such as hard hats, vests, safety glasses, and boots is required.
- Work may be indoors or outdoors, exposed to weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Must pass drug, alcohol tests, and background checks.
Abilities
- Lift up to 100 lbs at once and sustain 60 lbs for extended periods.
- Relocate a 12-foot ladder without assistance.
- Work at heights up to 60 feet and climb scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
- Perform physical activities like climbing, lifting, and reaching regularly.
- Have good vision and hearing, and communicate effectively in English.
- Recognize potential safety issues.
