Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. is seeking a Skilled Laborer to support apartment renovation and maintenance projects in Los Angeles County.

The role involves framing repairs, drywall work, texture finishing, demolition, and installing fixtures in occupied and vacant units. The ideal candidate has hands-on carpentry experience, can operate hand and power tools, and maintains safety standards while meeting project timelines.

Qualifications

• Carpentry, maintenance or related trade experience; multi-craft background preferred (4+ years).
• Must provide basic hand and/or power tools.
• Proficient English communication for reports and emails.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction maintenance in residential and commercial spaces.
• Skilled with metal and wood framing repairs.
• Install, repair, and finish drywall.
• Apply texture and finish work as directed by the supervisor.
• Demolish existing doors, windows, cabinets, and walls.
• Install doors, cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures as directed.
• Work independently or in a team environment.

Description

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP) is a leading provider of skilled trade services throughout California. Our Commercial Maintenance Division is currently seeking a Skilled Laborer to support apartment renovation and maintenance projects throughout Los Angeles County. In this role, the Skilled Laborer will perform a variety of construction and maintenance tasks, including framing repairs, drywall patching and installation, flooring repairs, demolition, and general property maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience working in occupied and vacant apartment units, be comfortable using hand and power tools, and be able to complete assignments efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship and safety standards.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction maintenance in residential and commercial spaces
• Skilled with metal and wood framing repairs
• Install, repair, and finish drywall
• Apply texture and finish work as directed by the construction supervisor
• Demolish existing doors, windows, cabinets, and walls
• Install doors, cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures as directed
• Work independently or collaboratively in a team environment

Requirements

• Recent and relevant experience in carpentry, maintenance, or a related trade; multi-craft experience with at least four years of experience preferred
• Must provide basic hand and/or power tools necessary to perform assigned work
• Proficient English communication skills required to write reports and emails
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Must have the physical ability to grip, grasp, twist, climb, and descend stairs with or without construction materials
