Job summary

Major Tool is hiring a Painter in Indianapolis, IN to perform all paint-related tasks per customer specifications. You will operate and maintain paint booths, review drawings for paint requirements, and ensure accurate data entry while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

A high school diploma is required; some mechanical aptitude and 2 years of experience are preferred. The role is full-time in Indianapolis with comprehensive benefits, including health insurance and a 401(k) match.

Duties:

• Perform paint related task on both steel and aluminum components
• Maintain paint equipment
• Accurate data entry
• Perform inspection verification
• Keep paint booth clean and organized
• Review customer drawings for paint requirements

Job Qualification Requirements:

Educational Experience – High school diploma required. Vocational or technical school preferred but not required.

Experience – 2 years experience preferred, but not required. Some mechanical aptitude required.

Physical Demands – The employee is required to:

• stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
• exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
• exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
• exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Certification Required – Medical certification required to wear respirator.

Visual Acuity – Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.

Hearing Ability – Accommodations required to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action and for communicating with employees.

Working Conditions – The employee is subject to:

• high noise levels from operating machines
• physical hazards from moving equipment and production components
• breathing fumes, dust and mist
• skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
