Job summary

Major Tool & Machine in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Painter for a full-time role. You will perform all paint-related tasks to customer specifications, inspect and maintain equipment, and review drawings to determine paint requirements.

The job requires a high school diploma and could require medical certification to wear a respirator. Expect a dynamic environment with exposure to high-noise machinery and potential hazards; average physical demands include standing, walking, and lifting

Qualifications

• Educational Experience – High school diploma required. Vocational or technical school preferred but not required.
• Experience – 2 years experience preferred, but not required. Some mechanical aptitude required.
• Physical Demands – The employee is required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor; exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Certification Required – Medical certification required to wear respirator.
• Visual Acuity – Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments.
• Hearing Ability – Accommodations required to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action and for communicating with employees.
• Working Conditions – The employee is subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and production components; breathing fumes, dust and mist; skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment checks on paint booth daily
• Record paint usages daily
• Perform paint related task on both steel and aluminum components
• Maintain paint equipment
• Accurate data entry
• Perform inspection verification
• Keep paint booth clean and organized
• Review customer drawings for paint requirements
