Job summary

Jackson Memorial Perdue Medical Center is seeking a Cook 2 to perform skilled cooking and baking tasks in the PMC Food Service department. This role follows production sheets and supervisor directions to prepare a variety of dishes, including special diets.

It is a full-time day shift supporting both residents and staff on the Miami campus. The position requires following safety and sanitation guidelines, setting up serving lines, proper portion control, and keeping work areas clean while

Qualifications

• 0 to 3 years of related experience.
• High School diploma strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cook hot food items for resident and staff for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Follow recipes, production sheets and check menu for accuracy.
• Operates cooking equipment and uses proper portion control for special diets.
• Set up serving line and serve hot food items with proper utensils.
• Record time and temperature of food and monitor sanitation practices.
• Assist in training new cooks and other staff as requested.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and greet customers courteously.
• Prepare grill items or batch quantities to cover all food service schedules.
• Label and date all food items before refrigerating.
