Job summary

Miami Children's Hospital is seeking a Cook I for a part-time evening shift to prepare and cook foods per recipe standards in the FANS department, supporting patient, retail, and catering meals.

The role emphasizes food safety, sanitation, and accurate production planning. You will work with Executive and Sous Chefs, ensure quality, and maintain records while meeting department needs and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Active SafeStaff Certification required within 30 days of hire.
• 3-5 years of volume cooking experience in hospital, hotel, institutional, or catering setting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive and Sous Chefs with bulk food production for patient services, retail, and catering.
• Prepare, season, and cook foods according to recipe standards using basic culinary techniques and forecast data.
• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, and trim ingredients for cooking.
• Taste products, check production, estimate quantities, minimize waste, and maintain records for production planning.
• Support Cook II and Prep Cooks to enable growth and collaboration across the department.
