Job summary

Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami's main kitchen is seeking a Cook 2 to perform skilled cooking and baking tasks for residents and staff, following recipes, production sheets, and dietary guidelines.

You will set up serving lines, ensure portion control, monitor time and temperatures, and maintain sanitation standards throughout the shift. Applicants should have 0–3 years of related experience and a High School diploma; training may be provided for special diets and emergency procedures.

Qualifications

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
0–3 years of related cooking experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

Cook hot food items for breakfast, lunch and dinner such as cereals, soups, meats, starches and vegetables.
Follow recipes, production sheets and check menu for accuracy.
Operate cooking equipment and ensure proper portion control for special diets.
Set up serving line and serve hot items using proper utensils.
Maintain time/temperature records and sanitation standards; clean work area.
