Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Michigan seeks a heavy equipment operator to safely operate excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and related machinery to bale, load and move waste material at designated sites.

Responsibilities include daily equipment inspections, lubrication, fluid checks, and communicating with the field team. Candidates should have a GED or high school diploma (desirable), forklift certification, and the ability to obtain transfer station/landfill certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is desired but not required.
• Completion of forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste into trailers.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease and lubricate equipment; check and add fluids daily.
• Follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Attend safety meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
