Job summary

Contra Costa Community College District invites applications for a Grounds Worker II in the Maintenance & Operations department. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.

Starting pay is $57,828 per year (step 1) with progression to $70,440 (step 5) based on experience and salary guidelines. The role involves skilled landscaping, turf maintenance, irrigation system work, and operation of a range of equipment across campus grounds, including

Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience performing grounds work or similar duties, including operating maintenance equipment and maintaining irrigation systems.
High school diploma or GED or the equivalent.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, forklift operator’s certificate.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a pesticide applicators certificate.

Responsibilities

Plants, waters, weed, trims, fertilizes, restores and mows lawns, shrubs, trees and flower beds.
Operates routine maintenance on irrigation equipment and landscaping tools.
Performs preventive maintenance on landscape maintenance tools and equipment.
Drives vehicles to transport materials and equipment as required.
