Job summary

San José-Evergreen Community College District is seeking a Groundskeeper III to join the Facilities team at San Jose City College. The role supports maintenance of landscaped areas, irrigation systems, and turf care with a Monday–Friday schedule, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., year-round.

Responsibilities include operating a wide range of landscape equipment, pruning, fertilizing, and maintaining athletic fields while ensuring safety and compliance with district procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: completion of the 12th grade or equivalent.
• Experience: one year performing semi-skilled or skilled tree care, landscape maintenance, and/or irrigation repair.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turf and athletic fields using mowing equipment and tools.
• Maintain and repair automatic sprinkler systems and irrigation components.
• Prune trees, shrubs, and vines; apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as needed.
• Perform landscape installation, plantings, and minor construction tasks.
