Job summary

Civil Works Contracting is seeking an Excavator Operator to safely operate excavators and other heavy equipment on construction sites, excavating, moving, and grading according to project specs.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience with excavation equipment, a valid driver's license, and a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork in outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience operating excavators or similar heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license; operator certification may be required by local regulations.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures relevant to equipment operation.
• Physical strength, stamina, and flexibility for extended operation.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators for digging, trenching, and earthmoving tasks at construction sites.
• Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Monitor and maintain machine performance during operation.
• Follow site plans, drawings, and instructions from supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and governmental regulations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors on project progress.
• Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs of equipment.
• Understand and operate in accordance with environmental guidelines.
