Job summary

Yulista Contract Services LLC seeks an Able Seaman to support ship operations under the captain and officers. You will assist with deck duties, mooring, and maintenance while standing watch and participating in emergency drills.

Required credentials include Merchant Mariner AB special deck rating and the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance. This role requires physical fitness and seamanship skills for safety and mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Merchant Mariner Credential National AB Special Deck Rating is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance.
• STCW Basic Training and relevant certifications.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
• Proficiency in knot tying and line handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine deck operations aboard the ship, such as preparing the ship for departure or arrival.
• Handle lines to moor the vessel to wharfs and to tie up vessels to each other.
• Operate and maintain deck machinery, such as winches and hoists.
• Inspect, maintain, and secure cargo in compliance with load restrictions and damage prevention.
• Maintain the ship’s surfaces by chipping rust, scaling, painting, and performing other maintenance work as necessary.
• Stand watch to look for obstructions in the ship’s path, other vessels, and navigational aids such as buoys and lighthouses.
• Participate in emergency drills, including fire, abandon ship, man overboard, and damage control drills.
• Assist with the launch and recovery of small boats used by performing routine deck operations aboard the ship.
