Job summary

Calista Corporation seeks an experienced Able Seaman to support deck operations, navigation lookout and routine maintenance aboard the vessel. Candidates must hold Merchant Mariner Credential and AB Deck Rating, and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

The role requires physical fitness and readiness for varied weather conditions. Responsibilities include deck tasks, line handling, cargo protection, and active participation in safety drills while ensuring compliance with life-saving

Qualifications

• Maritime knowledge including seamanship, knot tying, line handling, and basic navigation tools.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
• Knowledge of lifesaving equipment, firefighting techniques, and emergency response protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine deck operations aboard the ship, such as preparing for departure or arrival.
• Handle lines to moor the vessel and secure ships to wharfs or other vessels.
• Operate and maintain deck machinery, such as winches and hoists.
• Inspect, maintain, and secure cargo in compliance with load restrictions and damage prevention.
• Maintain ship surfaces via rust removal, scaling, painting, and related maintenance.
• Stand watch to detect obstructions, navigational aids, and other vessels.
• Participate in emergency drills including fire, abandon ship, man overboard, and damage control.
• Assist with launch and recovery of small boats used by the ship.
