Job summary

Maxim Crane Works, L.P. is seeking a skilled crane mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair crane systems, engines, hydraulics and electrical components at our Port Lavaca facility.

You will work on diesel engines, booms and associated machinery, ensuring high safety and reliability standards. The role requires 5+ years of mechanical experience with cranes, 3+ years with diesel or propane engines, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Crane/mechanical experience with diesel engines is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on crane systems and vehicles.
• Operate hoists, forklifts, and hand trucks for material handling.
• Diagnose defects and determine required repairs.
• Test machines after repair to ensure compliance with OEM specs.
• Read and interpret manuals and blueprints.
