Job summary

DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS is seeking a Construction/Maintenance Techn II to support the Lawton/Ft. Sill Veterans Home. This full-time, regular position handles construction, maintenance and repair of state buildings and grounds, requiring no license but with four years of building trades experience.

Qualifications

Four years of experience in one or more building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

Performs carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings and additions to existing structures.
Installs and maintains plumbing fixtures and related equipment.
Maintains and repairs electrical systems, lighting, and electrical equipment.
Operates and maintains equipment used in construction and grounds maintenance.
Constructs, maintains and repairs foundations, walls, stairs, and related structures.
Supports safety and quality by following procedures and reporting issues.
