Job summary

Skillforce is hiring Skilled Construction Laborers for ongoing project work throughout Richmond, Virginia. A Skilled Construction Laborer supports carpenters, plumbers, and electricians on an active commercial jobsite.

The role requires 1+ year of commercial construction experience, a valid driver's license, and bringing your own basic hand tools and PPE. You will assist trades, read blueprints, and help with material handling and site tasks.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience on commercial construction sites.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the jobsite daily.
• Bring basic hand tools and personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, boots, vest).
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check; authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead tradesmen with material handling, layout support, and daily project tasks.
• Use hand and power tools to assemble, install, and repair materials.
• Demonstrate demolition, material staging, loading/unloading deliveries, and equipment storage across the jobsite.
• Keep work areas clean and clear so crews can move safely.
• Read basic blueprints and take measurements and cuts as needed.
