Job summary

Surestaff in Toledo, OH is seeking a skilled CNC Setup Operator to join our production team. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts per drawings; 2nd shift 3:00pm–11:00pm with training on 1st shift; pay $19.56 per hour.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of CNC setup experience, reads blueprints and GD&T, verifies settings, performs first-piece inspections, and collaborates with machinists and quality staff to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years CNC setup experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T specifications.
• Experience setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment for production runs.
• Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Verify machine settings, offsets, and program parameters prior to production.
• Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary machine adjustments.
• Monitor production runs for quality and efficiency.
• Use precision measuring instruments for inspection.
• Troubleshoot setup and machining issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow safety procedures and keep workspace clean.
• Collaborate with machinists, programmers, quality personnel, and supervisors to improve processes.
