Position Title: CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer / Operator
Wage: $28.00 - $38.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm
We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer / Operator for a well-established precision manufacturing operation in Lake Villa, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional who enjoys taking a project from blueprint to finished part and has strong hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating HAAS CNC mills using Mastercam.
Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate HAAS CNC milling machines
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam
- Take jobs from blueprint through completed part
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and workholding
- Perform machine setups and make necessary offsets and program adjustments
- Complete first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues
- Produce prototype and production parts while maintaining tight tolerances
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and machining processes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work closely with engineering and production personnel to meet customer requirements and deadlines
Requirements for CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer / Operator:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC milling and programming experience
- Strong experience programming with Mastercam
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating HAAS CNC mills
- Strong knowledge of G-Code
- Ability to independently program, set up, and run parts from blueprint to completion
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Proficient with micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, speeds, feeds, and workholding
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or machining education is a plus
- Machining aluminum, stainless steel, tool steel, and plastics preferred
- Multi-axis CNC machining is a plus
- Prototype and short-run production is a plus
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement preferred
