Position Title: CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer / Operator

Wage: $28.00 - $38.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm

We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer / Operator for a well-established precision manufacturing operation in Lake Villa, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional who enjoys taking a project from blueprint to finished part and has strong hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating HAAS CNC mills using Mastercam.

Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, and operate HAAS CNC milling machines
• Create, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs using Mastercam
• Take jobs from blueprint through completed part
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and workholding
• Perform machine setups and make necessary offsets and program adjustments
• Complete first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
• Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues
• Produce prototype and production parts while maintaining tight tolerances
• Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and machining processes
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Work closely with engineering and production personnel to meet customer requirements and deadlines

Requirements for CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer / Operator:

• Minimum 5 years of CNC milling and programming experience
• Strong experience programming with Mastercam
• Hands-on experience setting up and operating HAAS CNC mills
• Strong knowledge of G-Code
• Ability to independently program, set up, and run parts from blueprint to completion
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, speeds, feeds, and workholding
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or machining education is a plus
• Machining aluminum, stainless steel, tool steel, and plastics preferred
• Multi-axis CNC machining is a plus
• Prototype and short-run production is a plus
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement preferred
