Job summary

Penn Machine Company LLC, a Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a qualified Machinist for its Transit Division in Blairsville, PA. The role operates CNC lathes, mills, and gear grinders, reads prints, and documents results to meet tight tolerances in a clean, safe shop.

Normal schedule is Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-12:30am with overtime and potential shift variation. Training is available for candidates with machining backgrounds and a willingness to learn MasterCam or Gear Pro.

Qualifications

• Machining background and knowledge.
• Programming experience and training preferred.
• Experience programming in MasterCam and Gear Pro is a plus.
• Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret prints using measuring equipment.
• Machine shop environment background preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime and alternate shifts; training available.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes, mills, and/or gear grinders and use hand/power tools as needed.
• Replace worn inserts, drills, or tooling and adjust feed/speed rates.
• Complete work assignments and related reports promptly.
• Verify components with measuring instruments to ensure tolerances.
• Operate forklift and crane hoist to move materials as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
