Job summary

Penn Machine Company in Blairsville, PA is seeking a qualified Machinist to operate CNC lathes, mills and gear grinders, producing quality components to prints. A strong focus on safety and accuracy is required as you work in a hands-on production environment.

Normal schedule is Monday–Thursday 5am–3pm. We offer competitive wages and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, vacation, disability, and life insurance beginning on the first day of employment.

Qualifications

• Machining background and ability to read and interpret prints.
• Experience reading and using measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes, mills, and gear grinders to prints.
• Replace worn inserts and adjust feeds/ speeds.
• Complete work, reports, and documentation in a timely manner.
• Verify components with measuring instruments to ensure tolerances.
• Operate forklift and crane hoist to move materials.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area.

Penn Machine Company LLC, a Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway Company, is a leading manufacturer of products and services for the transit, railroad, oil/gas, and mining industries. We are seeking a qualified individual for a full‑time position in Blairsville, PA. Our Machinists operate equipment necessary to produce quality components to specifications on prints while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Normal schedule is Monday‑Thursday 5am‑3pm. Primary responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain operation of CNC lathes, mills, and/or gear grinders as well as hand and power tools as required to perform job assignments.
• Replace worn inserts, drills or tooling and adjust feed/speed rates.
• Complete work assignments and associated reports in a timely manner.
• Verify machine components with measuring instruments to ensure parts are made within tolerances.
• Operate powered industrial forklift and crane hoist to transfer and position materials as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well organized work area.

Requirements for Positions

• Machining background - knowledge of and/or machining background.
• Programming experience and training is preferred.
• Experience programming in MasterCam and/or Gear Pro is a plus.
• Strong background to read, understand, and interpret prints, with using measuring equipment, in completing reports and documentation, and ability to read and understand written directions and procedures.
• Machine shop environment background preferred.
• Self‑motivated and willing to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime and alternate shifts, when required.
