Senior Helpers of Greater Chicago is hiring compassionate caregivers to support elderly and disabled clients at home and in facilities across the Chicagoland area. We offer flexible schedules, ongoing training, and opportunities for personal certification to help you advance professionally in the care field.

Qualifications

• Compassionate caregiver with hands-on experience delivering personal care to elderly/disabled clients.
• Proficient in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility.
• Knowledgeable in infection control and safe patient handling.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with clients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with ADLs (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding).
• Provide mobility support and safe transfers.
• Administer medication reminders and follow care plans.
• Prepare meals adhering to dietary needs and assist with feeding.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment and prevent infections.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to promote well‑being.
• Support light housekeeping and accompany clients to appointments.
• Observe changes and report to family or healthcare team.

Qualifications:

• Compassionate and dedicated caregiver with over 5+ years of hands-on experience providing high-quality personal care to elderly and disabled clients in home and facility settings.
• Highly skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility support.
• Proficient in safe patient handling techniques, including transfers using gait belts, Hoyer lifts, and wheelchairs.
• Knowledgeable in monitoring vital signs, medication reminders, and documenting changes in physical and emotional conditions.
• Trained in infection control, hygiene management, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and families.
• Patient, reliable, and culturally sensitive, with a strong commitment to preserving client dignity and independence.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
• Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle with car insurance.
• With a negative Tuberculosis test.

Responsibilities:

• Assisted clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding while maintaining dignity and comfort.
• Provided mobility support, including safe transfers from bed to wheelchair, repositioning, and ambulation assistance.
• Administered medication reminders and ensured adherence to prescribed care plans.
• Prepared nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assisted with feeding when necessary.
• Maintained a clean, safe, and organized living environment to prevent infection and accidents.
• Offered companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce isolation.
• Assisted with light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishwashing, and room sanitation.
• Accompanied clients to medical appointments
• Observed and reported changes in clients’ physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions to family members or healthcare professionals.
• Followed safety protocols and infection control guidelines at all times.
