Job summary

State of Tennessee is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker for the DDA East TN Regional Office in Greeneville, TN. The role performs a range of tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and general repair work under general supervision.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Experience equivalent to three years of full-time increasingly skilled labor and trade work including, at least, two years in building maintenance work.
Possess a valid driver's license.
Criminal background check required.
MVR screening will be conducted prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Identifies maintenance issues to repair or report and performs repairs using diagrams or manuals.
Operates and uses tools and equipment including hand and power tools, drills, and grinders; provides direction as needed.
Inspects electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems and replaces defective parts to perform repairs.
Rewires electrical outlets and breaker boxes; conducts basic carpentry and minor HVAC repairs.
Reviews preventative maintenance plans and performs routine maintenance to ensure equipment runs smoothly.
