Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of soldering, cable and harness assembly experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and process documentation.
  • No heavy lifting required; ability to stand and sit with occasional reaching.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble cable and harness assemblies according to drawings and schematics.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Technical Writers, QA Representatives, and Production Planners.
  • Maintain problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with limited supervision.
  • Apply proper ESD, FOD, and 5S practices.
  • Support production schedules and quality standards for the Tactical Space Systems Division.
  • Perform daily tasks in a clean environment with accuracy and compliance.

Position Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cable & Wire Harness Technician 1/2 – First Shift to support our Tactical Space Systems Division located in Gilbert, AZ. The job involves fabrication and assembly of complex space flight cable and harness assemblies from drawings, schematics, wire lists, or engineering sketches in conformance with government specifications and workmanship standards. The work is performed in a professional atmosphere with ESD and FOD awareness, requiring a lab coat and latex gloves at all times and the use of soldering iron, tweezers, heat gun and other common hand tools.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble cable and harness assemblies according to specified drawings and schematics.
  • Work independently and as a member of a team that includes Manufacturing Engineers, Technical Writers, Quality Assurance Representatives, and Production Planners.
  • Maintain high levels of problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills while working with limited supervision.
  • Apply proper ESD, FOD, and 5S practices.
  • Support overall production schedules and quality standards for the Tactical Space Systems Division.
  • Perform daily tasks in a clean environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and government standards.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of related experience in soldering, cable and harness assembly.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and process documentation.
  • No heavy lifting required; ability to stand and sit with occasional reaching.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace industry manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with TipQA, Costpoint, Windchill, MES, and Creo.
  • Strong understanding of wiring processes, crimping, splicing, wire routing, and assembly techniques per IPC standard harness operations.
  • Familiarity with ESD, FOD, 5S, and Tool Control.
  • NASA J-STD and/or IPC 620 certifications with space addendums.
Salary

Primary Level: $1.00 – $1.00. Secondary Level: $0.00 – $0.00. Base pay may vary based on experience, education, and role scope. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Long‑term incentive plans may be offered for mid‑career levels.
