Job Title

SkillBridge - Site Service Technician - Technician Apprentice

Job Description

This is a developmental opportunity for active-duty military personnel who will be separating from the military in the next three (3) to six (6) months. The SkillBridge Internship Program is designed to provide on-the-job training and experience in the civilian sector to SkillBridge applicants. SkillBridge is a Department of Defense (DOD) program that matches civilian opportunities to a military member's job training and work experience at the end of their military duty. Applicant must be eligible for the DOD SkillBridge program.

Job Summary:

Through this role you can learn the mechanics of material handling equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. You will have a mentor to guide you through our formal training program, where you will learn how to maintain safety standards and interact with customers. From classroom modules to hands on training in the shop, we will prepare you for a career as a Field Service Technician!

Essential Responsibilities:

• Learn how to perform routine maintenance, diagnose and repair material handling equipment (i.e. forklifts, aerial lifts, pallet trucks, etc.)


• Complete required training certifications


• Assist mechanics


• Strictly adhere to all health and safety protocols


• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards

Required Qualifications:

• Active Military personnel whom is eligible for the DOD SkillBridge program.


• Entry-level understanding of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.


• Basic mechanical skills including electrical diagrams and hydraulic systems to tie in with daily maintenance required to meet the customer's expectations.


• Must be motivated, and willing and able to work safely in high pressure environments.


• Must be able to adapt readily to project changes and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.


• Ability to work well both within team atmospheres and independently with little supervision.

• Positive attitude and professional demeanor


• Ability to learn quickly and follow directions


• Exceptional customer service skills


• Excellent work ethic


• A valid driver's license and clean driving record

Desired Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required - equipment made available for heavier items.


• Ability to stand/sit for prolonged periods to perform required work.


• Ability to maneuver in physically demanding environments.


• Must be able to work in various weather conditions (hot/cold extremes) with provisions.


• Position requires effective verbal and written communication skills.


• General computer knowledge is required.
